Abstract
The purpose of this study was to develop a standardized scale that could not only be used for the assessment but also be used for evaluating rehabilitation outcome for persons with psychiatric disabilities. In order to achieve this purpose, a total of 150 items consisting of 4 domains and 12 factors was developed based on the theoretical reviews on psychosocial rehabilitation model and survey results from field workers. And then, by incorporating the results from focus group interview with 6 experts, 110 preliminary items were finally chosen for survey. Data were collected from 1,033 people with psychiatric disabilities who were receiving psychiatric services across the country. The collected data were analyzed using exploratory and confirmatory factor analysis and a final of 50-item scale was developed consisting of 4 domains 10 sub-factors. The developed scale`s Cronbach`s alpha was .936 and the correlation coefficient of 2-weeks interval test-retest reliability was .840. A series of analyses also indicated that the scale`s convergent and discriminant validity were satisfactory. Lastly, the implication and limitation of the present study were discussed.
